At AmberSky Salon, our Stylist Level System is designed to give clients thoughtful options when choosing salon services, while also providing a clear path for growth, education, and achievement for our team.
Clients may select the stylist — or stylist level — that best complements their individual needs, whether that be skill set, experience level, or budget.
In short, stylist levels are based on Reputation, Education, and Demand. As our stylists grow in each of these areas, they earn the opportunity to advance to higher levels within our salon.

The Levels
Shadowing Stylists
Shadowing Stylists are current cosmetology students who are gaining hands-on exposure to the salon environment. These students may be visiting AmberSky for observational experience or working toward becoming a Level 1 Stylist upon graduation.
We believe that giving students the opportunity to watch, observe, and ask questions before they graduate helps advance their careers and better prepares them for success from day one.
Level 1 Stylist
Level 1 Stylists are newly licensed professionals in the state of Missouri. They are developing the skills necessary to deliver AmberSky-quality services and offer a limited service menu at Level 1 pricing.
These stylists work closely with our senior team members as they build confidence and refine their craft.
Level 2 Stylist
Level 2 Stylists are either experienced professionals new to AmberSky, or team members who have chosen to grow their careers within our salon. With a minimum of one year of experience, they are competent in foundational cutting, styling, and coloring services.
Level 2 Stylists often collaborate with Senior and Master Stylists for more advanced services and continue sharpening their skills as they grow in confidence. Booking with a Level 2 Stylist is a great option for clients seeking high-quality service at a more cost-effective price point.
Seasoned Stylists
Our Level 3 and Level 4 Stylists are industry leaders who bring extensive experience, education, and reputation to the AmberSky team. They are deeply committed to paying their expertise forward by mentoring and inspiring the next generation of stylists.
Level 3 Stylist
Level 3 Stylists (Senior Stylists) have a minimum of three years of professional experience, advanced education, and a strong foundation built both behind the chair and through continued training.
They are highly skilled in customized cutting and coloring services, including complex color projects and corrections. At this level, stylists begin actively mentoring Level 1 Stylists and contributing to the growth of our team.
Level 4 Stylist
Level 4 Stylists are true masters of their craft. They are established, respected professionals whose years — and often decades — of experience, advanced education, and high demand have earned them this title.
As leaders within the salon, Level 4 Stylists serve as mentors, educators, and role models, paying their knowledge forward and shaping the future of our industry.
