Yuriko Phouapanya (She/Her) – Level 4 Stylist
Yuriko has been a professional hairstylist since 2007 and is also a skilled permanent makeup artist. She has worked in a variety of salons as well as independently as a sole proprietor. One of her favorite experiences has been doing hair and makeup for weddings, where she enjoys highlighting the natural beauty of the bride and wedding party.
Yuriko has been happily married since 2013 and is the proud mom of an amazing son. She adores being around children and their families, and she finds little ones to be both smart and funny.
Outside of the salon, Yuriko’s passions include gardening and many artistic pursuits such as dance, circus arts, music, and painting. Her creativity, warmth, and dedication make her a beloved stylist at AmberSky.
Dusty Robinson (He/Him) – Level 4 Stylist
Born and raised in St. Louis, Dusty has been a professional hairstylist since 2010. He also spent time as an educator at Paul Mitchell, specializing in short haircuts. Over the past decade, Dusty has honed his expertise in fades, traditional cuts, and pixie styles, making him a go-to stylist for men, women, and children seeking precision short haircuts.
Dusty has been happily married for 10 years and is the proud dad of four amazing children. He loves working with families and finds joy in creating haircuts that are both stylish and easy to manage. Dusty’s skill, creativity, and friendly personality make him a trusted stylist for clients of all ages at AmberSky.
AJ Wood (She/Her) – Level 1 Stylist
Hi! I’m AJ. My favorite color is yellow because it reminds me of the sun and all things bright and cheerful. I love any opportunity to express myself creatively, whether that’s through hair, nails, makeup, or my hobbies like crocheting, reading, and cooking.
AJ is currently completing her Cosmetology license and is gaining hands-on experience at AmberSky. She offers complimentary shampoos and child braids as she builds her skills. AJ loves giving haircuts because she believes a great haircut can completely transform how someone looks — and how they feel.
Gryphon (He/They) – Level 1 Stylist
Gryphon is a transgender hairstylist with a passion for helping children feel safe and comfortable in the salon. Specializing in working with clients who are nervous, anxious, or have sensory sensitivities, Gryphon uses patience, empathy, and strong connection-building skills to make every haircut a positive experience.
While Gryphon also enjoys vivid colors and layered cuts, their main focus at AmberSky is creating a calm, welcoming environment for children who may dislike or fear haircuts. Gryphon believes that every client deserves to feel confident, understood, and truly themselves, and is dedicated to making the salon a safe space for all.
